How do you define free?
They say that the economics nowadays is longer satisfy with the idea of having discount, people like to have free things, so how does one make money? But, prior to that, are the free things really free?
Recently, my daughter was sick, one of the suspect are some free coffee mugs which she is playing. So, the coffee mugs are free but because of quality issue it leads to mu daughter falling sick and we having to come out with medical bills.
So, in reality, if I do not get the free coffee mugs, I might not have incur this additional cost. Moreover, there is always something that you need to do to get the free things.
Things that might not have value to us, but great value to the people wanting it. To get us to be loyal to certain brand of toothpaste, they always give out give mugs and stuff.
Think about it, would you really need so many coffee mugs? And what has coffee mugs got to do with toothpaste?
They wanted loyalty to their brand, we wanted free stuff. At most, you would see this as a form of trading, but you cannnot see this a free thing.

It’s kind of funny to think there’s “free stuff” you can claim IF you will add something or buy another one. It just tells us that there’s no actual free thing in this world. I agree that you just exchange your loyalty to a free stuff. Well, this is called marketing strategy.
