So much for being top rated

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

For those that are in the know about coffee makers, clover espresso machine is one of the best there is when it comes to coffee makers. It can be said to be among best of the top rated coffee makers (at more than $11 000, it better be right!).

Anyway, this machine was available in a coffee house in town and we all went to try the supposedly spectacular brew that it is able to do. The result was a dismay.

Not because the coffee was not good, or the machine did not deliver up to expectation, far from it, the coffee is really smooth and delievers great taste.

But, the experience was far from good. Firstly, it was crowded, and then because the shop want to attain maximum turn over, the staff come to us every few minutes asking us if we wanted more drinks (trying to get us to hurry up).

This spoils it all. We were there because we wanted to savor and enjoy the coffee, but alas, there was no such experience.

Don’t you think this is much like life? You can have all the best in life, good education, great look, nice cloths and superb career, but yet leave no impact and even negative impact on those around you.

Life after all is about living and living meant interaction and being part of a larger community.

Similar to the coffee house, it does not matter what you have, it is what you are able to give! If you have the best but is not impacting the community in any way, what is the point of having them?

If I am drinking a coffee that is from the most expensive machine, but have to do it within minutes, what is the different does it has from a cup of instant coffee?

Think about what is top rated, it might not be what you think all along…

Consumer reports coffee makers is in, mirrors life

Monday, July 20th, 2009

A name is more precious than gold, that is so true with consumer reports coffee makers is in and also for life.

Coffee makers companies would try ways and means to get into these consumer reports, and if they are featured there, it meant good sales. However, more and more companies are paying to be inside these consumer reports.

If these reports are paid, it is still unbiased and can it still be trusted? Wouldn’t it be just like those advertisement? It would be what I called tainted.

The consumer repors coffee makers because of trying to make more money, actually ruined itself. The fact is, if it remains neutral but only accept sponsorship where appropriate, it might even be better.

A person life is similar to that. Imagine you started with nothing, build a reputation or business, then you wanted a short cut, a way to earn faster money and more cash, you did something that is not so right.

It would first start with something that is not so right, then something wrong, then finally something totally illegal.

Thus, stick to what is right, ethical and be driven by your passion and it is unlikely that you cannnot make a living out of it…

Do you live like you would compare coffee makers?

Sunday, July 12th, 2009

What do I mean by that? Well, do you know how people would compare coffee makers? Check out the link to learn more about it. Anyway, there are many metrics aorund advising on how people should go about doing their coffee maker reviews or ratings.

However, if you ever go to the retail outlets, most people are still sold on the brands and the discount, never on the suitability factor.

Would a coffee machine that has a 50% discount that does espresso be suitable for some that drinks regular coffee only? People are buying based on emotions and urge and not on logic.

Similarly, people are living life according to their imagination or “sold” idea of how life should be. Think about it, 30 years ago, our fathers is always home for dinner and they spend money to raise a family.

Now with so many equipments and assets online, supposedly to make life easier, people are getting more stressed and less time to spend with family.

Checking emails and doing work late into the night is a sign of a reponsible corporate person. You meant to say our fathers are not responsible beings?

If you life you life as you would compare coffee makers, then that is a hard life. You are living according to the rules that the world set, the rules that the world wants you to live in so that everything can get going.

So, how should you live you life? First, you decide what is important? IS your business more important than your family? That meeting more important than your child first birthday?

You get the point.

Cheap coffee makers and my reflection

Sunday, July 5th, 2009

I have not been posting for a while, suddenly just ran out of idea about coffee makers. Then, I saw some advertisement about cheap coffee makers, and how people complained about them and ideas came back.

Think about it. Cheap coffee makers that have a very low retail price might not be so cheap after all as it breaks down easily and usually produces low quality coffee.

Similarly, in life, there are many channels and outlets promising easy money. This is akin to cheap coffee makers, easy to attain goals. But, usually it is not sustainable.

I term these cheap goals. Easy to get but not much value in the long run. How can anyone expect to build a business overnight? It is really possible to attend a 3 hour seminar then expect to have a $10 K income per month?

I do not know about you, but these are going to be like cheap coffee makers, usable for a while, but fragile and breakdown very easily.

The next time, you see someone selling a $10K income dream to you, asked yourself this question, if he can teach people how to make $10K a month, and is already doing so, why is he not focusing his time to earn more $10K??
